Chenevaux Gite |
Kitchen |
The nearest villages, St Pierre de Maille and Angles sur l'Anglin, are within a couple of km and here you can find shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a picturesque ruined chateau, quaint stone houses and cobbled streets. Angles sur l'Anglin is set on the Anglin River and St Pierre de Maille on the Gartempe, both ideal for canoeing an afternoon away or sitting on the banks having a picnic in the shade.
A little further away is the spa town of La Roche Posay, Chauvigny with its fabulous Saturday market and St Savin where the Abbey is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Dining area |
The gite is set in its own gardens which are surrounded by mature shrubs. A wooden archway leads to the swimming pool, which has a child-safe security fence and roman steps at one end. The pool measures 10x4m and at its deepest point is 2m. In the 7 acre grounds at Chenevaux there is also a newly renovated shady outdoor terrace and barbeque area, croquet lawn, boules, a 9 tee pitch and putt course and Mark's art studio where he offers classes, and you can see his ceramics and paintings. We will do all we can ( without getting in your way! ) to make sure that you enjoy your stay at Chenevaux whether you wish to explore the area and everything it has to offer or prefer to relax in the garden & grounds.
