At Chenevaux you have the following facilities at your disposal

There are also lots of things to do in the area nearby, here are some suggestions.

St Pierre de Maille - Tennis courts, hire by the hour.

St Germain - pony trekking, for novices and experienced riders

La Roche Posay - a spa town where you can have beauty treatments. Golf course - pay and play, either 9 or 18 holes, a good course, narrow and wooded. Our rating for course good.  Weekly market.

St Cyr - Golf course, pay and play 9, 18 and 27 holes, excellent and very attractive course where national competitions are held.  Our rating for course excellent.

Poitiers, Mignalaux Beauvoir - Golf.  Very good course and good restaurant.  Pay and play 9 or 18 holes. Our rating for course very good.

Cycling - we have a selection of maps showing local cycle routes.

Walking - we have a selection of maps showing local walking routes and there are sometimes organised rambling days in the nearby villages

Chauvigny - visit the medieval part of the town with its 5 castles.  Birds of prey displays.  Velo-rail. Saturday market.

La Bussiere and St Pierre de Maille - canoeing, on the river Anglin or Gartempe.  Varying difficulty.

Near St Pierre de Maille - stone climbing wall - Escalade.  Moderate to difficult so for experienced climbers.

The Brenne National Park - a bird watching paradise!  Visitor centre with English speaking guide.

La Puye - man made lake with beach.  Water slide, beach volley ball, climbing ropes ...

Angles sur l'Anglin
Angles sur l'Anglin - the local speciality is drawn threadwork.  There is a permanent exhibition in the tourist office and the work is demonstrated regularly.  The ruined castle.  Walk up to the chapel and see the wonderful views of the river.  Cafes and restaurants.   A visitor centre for pre-history " Roc aux Sorcieres" with a copy of cave carvings which were discovered not far from the village. Canoeing.


The Anglin River

St Pierre de Maille ( our village ) - tennis courts, small supermarket, bakery, post office, cafe, restaurant.  Lovely river.  There are several different routes that you can take to the village which is about 30 minutes on foot.

St Savin - the Abbey has romanesque frescoes which are renowned worldwide.  Pretty small town on the river.

Montmorillon - the city of books, cobbled streets and restaurants.

Poitiers - the cathedrals and churches, museums and galleries.  Shops.  Cafes and restaurants. Futuroscope. Nearest airport.

The Loire Valley - some of the chateaux are within driving distance for a day trip.
